The Sea School is a summer course in water sports: sailing, rowing and snorkelling. It is subsidised by the Sant Josep de sa Talaia town council and is aimed at young residents aged between 10 and 17.
The course begins with the presentation of the instructors and the basic rules of the School, as well as the general and specific safety rules for each boat.
On a normal day at the School we begin by distributing the tasks to be carried out before the activity, such as assembling the boats. Afterwards, the students attend a brief theoretical explanation, if necessary, and are divided into crews before beginning the activity at sea, which can be catamaran sailing, laser sailing, kayaking, paddle surfing or snorkelling.
Two activities are carried out per day.Your choice will depend on the weather conditions.
Taking these courses has enormous benefits for young people, such as teaching them to work as a team, overcome fears, improve their coordination and physical condition, and all of this increases their self-esteem and their ability to manage emotions.
In these activities we have been able to see how children with behavioural problems have significantly improved their attitude and, in addition, have awakened in them an interest in a sport such as sailing.
